Olympic beauty Jahorina boasts 46 km of alpine and 10 km of Nordic trails. The slopes are connected by modern cable cars to transport skiers and boarders, which have a total capacity of about 17,000 skiers per hour. Skiers on Jahorina can choose to ski on easy trails, medium difficulty trails as well as on difficult trails that are adapted to more experienced and skilful skiers. The slopes are covered with one gondola, three six-seater lifts, one two-seater and three ski lifts. Special attention is paid to the youngest skiers on this mountain, two ski kindergartens with a conveyor belt, a tubing trail and numerous entertainment facilities have been prepared for them. Ski kindergartens are most suitable for toddlers and beginners because they can make their first ski steps and have endless fun in the snow.
If you are looking for an oasis of peace during the summer, outside the crowds and crowded beaches, you can enjoy Jahorina. At the end of the winter season, the snow melts and with the first days of spring, nature begins to wake up, and the mountain becomes more and more pleasant for permanent residence. Jahorina abounds in untouched nature, coniferous forests, mountain springs, wild horses, mountain trails, numerous herbs and berries. In times of extreme heat, many guests find moments of leisure in the activities that Jahorina offers: walks on marked mountain trails, cycling, mountain biking, panoramic views of mountain peaks, quad biking, riding one of the longest bobsled tracks in Europe, children’s attractions and is especially popular with athletes for altitude preparations. With its rich offer, Jahorina selflessly offers visitors leisure and rest for all the senses 365 days a year.
The Cycling Descent trail starts from the top of the mountain, which you can reach during the summer season by taking a six-seater Poljica, enjoying a panoramic view of the mountain. What’s interesting is that the six-seater baskets have bike racks installed so you’ll be able to safely position your bike and enjoy the view to almost the very top of the mountain. The route of this trail starts at the top and ends at the sports fields of the Jahorina Olympic Center and is a somewhat more extreme route adapted primarily to fans of the Downhill cycling discipline, but also to those who are a little less extreme fans of this sport.
Trail length: 2,523 m // Total ascent: 276 m
The sports-recreational trail is the longest of all trails and allows you to visit all the ups and downs of the Olympic mountain during a walk of more than 13 km, from the very foot to the highest peak of Ogorjelica, which is located at 1,916 m above sea level. The route of the sports and recreational track starts from the sports fields of the Olympic Center Jahorina and descends by asphalt road to the Poljice plateau, from where, like the Olympic track, it goes to the weekend resort and then changes its route. From the weekend settlement “Jahorina” it leads you uphill and mountain road to the exit station of the six-seater Poljica and a large artificial lake with a capacity of 75,000 m3 around which there is a space for walking and from where you can head to the highest peak Ogorjelica which is also the most beautiful view point on mountains and for photography. If you follow the path of the Sports and Recreational Trail to the end, you will have the opportunity to enjoy seeing unusual scenes of the surrounding panorama, nature, various plants and wild horses. The route of the sports and recreational trail is a circular route that allows you to get a complete picture of Jahorina and is a favorite among cyclists, athletes but also among lovers of long walks in nature.
Jahorina is known for its rich gastronomic offer and top restaurants that over time have become one of the favorite reasons to return to this mountain.
We would certainly point out the restaurant “Rajska vrata”, which with its warm interior and rich selection of local dishes has been a favorite location of skiers and nature lovers in the summer for years. There is also a restaurant of the Lavina hotel, where we eat our favorite chocolate souffle in addition to many dishes. The pleasant and modern mountain ambience of the Koliba restaurant will not leave anyone indifferent, nor will the specialties from their cuisine. For complete après-ski pleasure, visit the Olympic bar located on top of the six-seater Poljica where you can enjoy a large selection of quality drinks with food.
We have three new adrenaline attractions on Jahorina. Visitors to the Olympic Mountain will once again have the opportunity to enjoy adrenaline rides first in the region.
Tower located on the plateau of Poljice allows you to climb to a height of 9 meters by gently pulling the rope. The strength and speed of the rope pull directly affects the climb speed. During the ride, the tower rotates continuously around a vertical axis and allows you to enjoy the panoramic view of the phenomenal mountain areas.
The Loopster or Ballerina also positioned on the Poljice plateau allows children, teenagers and adults to have full fun in a ride that is a unique experience. While driving in one of the 8 cabins that rotate in a circle but also around its axis in both directions, passengers can opt for a leisurely ride or experience adrenaline turbulence. For those who want a wild ride only the sky is the limit!
Skydive is located near the lake for artificial snow, at the top of Poljica, which is also the most attractive location on the mountain.
